“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one” Ezekiel 20:30.
Joseph M. Scriven (1819-1886) in his poem/hymn “What a Friend we have in Jesus” stated thus:
“What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and grief to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Jesus is our burden bearer, Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” In intercessory department, we are following the footprint of our High Priest – Jesus Christ who is an example for us being and is still the greatest intercessor. We also rely on the power of the Holy Spirit who makes intercession for us, through inner groaning that cannot be uttered (Rom 8:26). We believe that all believers are called to intercede on behalf of each other (1 Tim 2:1-3) which is the base level of intercession mandated to all believers.
We heeded the clarion call in Ezekiel 20:30 and continually stand in the gap for the body of Christ and nations. It will not be said of our generation that “but I found no one”. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we intercede for one another in particular and the body of Christ in general.
Non departmental member are welcomed.
